Hi, I am Buki, and I am the Founder, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and a Trustee of Josimah Baby Bank. As a registered nurse and mother of three energetic boys, I have personally experienced both the joys and challenges of parenthood. My professional journey in nursing has also exposed me to the realities faced by many families who struggle to provide the essentials their babies and young children need.

These personal and professional experiences ignited a passion in me to make a difference — to offer practical support, restore hope, and dignity to families in need. This vision led to the establishment of Josimah Baby Bank, an initiative dedicated to helping families across Reading, Bracknell, and Wokingham communities.

Raising a child is one of life’s greatest blessings, but it can also present significant financial pressures — particularly for single parents, low-income families, or those facing unexpected hardship. No parent should have to choose between feeding their family and meeting their baby’s basic needs, such as nappies, baby milk, clothing, a safe place to sleep, or essential equipment.

At Josimah Baby Bank, our mission is simple yet profound: to bring hope to families in need by ensuring every child has access to the essentials required to thrive. We collect donations of new and gently used baby items and distribute them to families experiencing financial hardship, supporting children from newborn to 5 years old.

What distinguishes Josimah Baby Bank is our commitment to compassionate care. As both a parent and caregiver, I understand the value of empathy, respect, and dignity during challenging times. Our volunteers embody these values, offering not just practical assistance but also a listening ear, emotional encouragement, and a sense of community to those we serve, ensuring that every parent feels seen, valued, and supported during difficult times.
